The human being is the most complex machine that exists. We are a manifestation of energy that was given to us when we were born and that makes us alive. In essence, we are energy.
Therefore, the base on which this project has been built is The Curve, representing the form that the waves of energy take. Because inside Casa Manuela, nothing is born or dies, here there is only transformation.
Casa Manuela's philosophy is based on true luxury, but far from ostentatiousness, this luxury refers to that of knowing where to direct our energy and how to take care of it to create an authentic inner transformation.
A task that is not at all easy, that is why we define it as the art of living. Because living, for those who know how to do it, is an art. In line with this, Casa Manuela is defined as a House of Experiential Art because its guests will be able to live with a lot of art and enjoy the most special energetic experiences.
All inspired by the culture of Andalusia, to provide each guest an authentic connection with this place and contribute to experience the true luxury, which is nothing more than being the owners of our energy to know how to be here and now.
Because that is our true wealth, since the present is the only thing we have.
The purpose of the house is to transmit a conscious and leisurely life for those people who take the time to appreciate the small details of every moment of life and create the most valuable memories. Those in which we were with all our presence and energy enjoying the present.
This is the universe of wellness, art, design and sustainability.
With a minimalist style that combines elegance and simplicity with a focus on the organic, the house invites us to reconnect with ourselves by redirecting our energy towards the present and what happens in it.
With its experiences it brings us back to the now through gastronomy, exercise for our body, yoga and meditation for our mind and rest.
All this accompanied by peace and tranquility. Helping us to be aligned and enjoy the process of living. With its spirit of change and fluidity, represented with its curved line, Casa Manuela teaches us that flexibility is the most enriching state we can adopt in life.
Casa Manuela is situated in a private Andalusian style urbanization where peace and tranquility are assured, between the beaches of Guadalmina and El Saladillo and surrounded by the charming village of Benahavis.
The heart of the Mediterranean lifestyle is about sharing and finding well-being in the simple pleasures that nature provides.
The proximity of the sea touches all aspects of life. Warm temperatures allow a connection between indoor and outdoor spaces with doors that open wide to encourage food, cooking and living to extend outdoors.
Its privileged natural environment, between the Sierra de las Nieves and the Mediterranean Sea that bathes the Costa del Sol, makes Benahavís unique and special. From its mountains you can see more than 100 kilometers of the Spanish coast and a good part of North Africa. Benahavís is an ideal place to practice hiking and enjoy an incomparable landscape that implies relaxation for the mind and exaltation of the senses.
Benahavís is also known for the high quality of its restaurants and the richness of the proposals it offers. The surroundings are also inspiring, as Benahavis is home to a thriving community of artisans, mainly painters, potters and chefs.
In addition to art galleries and craft stores, it also offers a brilliant array of restaurants, from authentic pizzerias to elegant fine dining establishments, robust steakhouses and the ubiquitous tapas taverns.
Also part of the municipality of Benahavís is La Zagaleta, considered the most exclusive residential urbanization in Europe and located on the road from Marbella to Ronda.
Casa Manuela is the result of two years of work that have transformed the property into a true Mediterranean Paradise in homage to the life and culture of Andalusia.
A project by Juan Bengoa that with a curved house design and a timeless minimalist character, manages to house a series of connected living spaces, each of which encourages guests to gather and provides many intimate corners for moments of reconnection and reunion with oneself.
The organic movement of its layout allows the boundaries between the different zones to blur, generating large and flexible spaces.
Thanks to the chromatic continuity of this space, the Mediterranean colors and the natural materials used, the different rooms connect with each other in an organic way.
All this takes on a meaning, enhanced by the careful lighting creating a cozy space, full of vitality and energy.
We must try to bring nature, houses and human beings closer to a higher unity.
- Mies van der Rohe
An organic connection that invites tranquillity into each space, allowing us to listen to what each one has to tell us. Designed in collaboration with stylist and decorator Daniella Van Twee, the interior of Casa Manuela hides a gallery of fun works of art and curiosities along with a local and traditional essence, organic and natural textures and art are the protagonists of the design and decoration of the spaces.

Gastronomy and dining experiences play a fundamental role in Casa Manuela's experiences thanks to the diversity of its regional cuisine. The dishes are made with organic and seasonal products straight from the garden to the table (with the option of cooking live); seafood and fish from the area, diverse vegetables and fruit and the heart and soul of Andalusian gastronomic culture.
Its kitchen is a space where everything is made from scratch. It does not work with refined products and is sourced from local producers who want to maintain their roots.

The chromatic continuity of this space, the Mediterranean-coloured ceilings and walls, intertwine to respond to a vital need to connect with the environment. The materials used are all natural, stone, wood, lime and mortar. All of this takes on a meaning enhanced by careful lighting, creating a welcoming and revitalising space.
